Arizona Jobs & Income Lower in Carbon Constrained Economy

Efforts to control emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) come with economic tradeoffs. 

In a report prepared for AIC by economists at Arizona State University, a cap and trade program or a tax on GHGs will create a drag on Arizona’s economy, lowering gross state product, jobs, and household income.  Even when the vast majority of GHG tax proceeds are recycled back into the Arizona economy through investment in green energy technologies, the result is negative.
